Leader Walks is a structured three-stage program that moves leadership development from the classroom to the operations floor and back. Every session produces a documented coaching interaction grounded in real work, not theory.
Leader Walks
How It Works
Stage 1: Workshop
The participant completes a focused workshop module on a specific leadership competency. Topics include communication, feedback delivery, performance coaching, conflict resolution, and operational awareness. Each module is built around the MERLIN coaching framework and aligned with the operational priorities of the facility.
Stage 2: Floor Application
The participant goes directly to the operations floor with a Leader Walk coach. Together, they engage in a real leadership interaction. The participant applies the workshop content in a live setting while the coach observes how the concepts translate into actual supervisory behavior. This is not a simulation. The interaction involves real associates, real tasks, and real operating conditions.
Stage 3: Debrief and Coaching Session
The participant and the Leader Walk coach return for a structured one-on-one debrief. The coach provides specific, evidence-based feedback on what worked, what did not, and what to do differently in the next interaction. The debrief produces a documented coaching record that tracks development over time.
Who It Is For
Leader Walks is designed for supervisors, team leads, shift managers, and operations managers. It is effective as a standalone leadership development program or as an integrated component of a broader engagement including Labor Management, Training, Management Consulting, or the MERLIN Program.
What Makes It Different
Most leadership programs end when the workshop ends. Leader Walks tests knowledge in real conditions and delivers coaching based on observed behavior, not self-reported performance. The three-stage cycle repeats across multiple sessions, building a documented progression of leadership capability tied directly to floor-level results.
